Walz warns that EPA regs will hurt rural America

Earlier this week, Tri-State senior vice president of external affairs and environmental Barbara Walz told Congress that the Environmental Protection Agency’s new greenhouse gas regulations run afoul of existing law and will hurt rural America. Testifying before the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Energy and Power, Walz said, “My message is a simple one. If this rule stands, it will effectively ban the construction of new coal-fired power plants in the U.S. and almost certainly will make electricity more expensive.”
