Tri-State and Wyoming’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives are proud to continue a tradition of supporting the Wyoming State Fair, which kicks off its eight-day run Aug. 10 in Douglas.

The state’s electric co-ops are sponsoring the very popular Mutton Bustin’ event and a feature brand new to the fair this year – a dedicated Kids’ Zone, which will offer age-appropriate entertainment and activities and a place for parents to relax.

Focusing on the youth of the communities we serve is a good fit for Wyoming’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and the 101-year-old Wyoming State Fair.

Throughout its evolution, the fair has continued to uphold its original purpose – to serve as an agriculturally focused event with an emphasis on education and youth activities. It remains the largest youth competition in the state.

“Buckles, Boots and Blue Ribbons” is the theme for the 2013 edition of the fair. The eight-day celebration will feature a parade through downtown Douglas, concerts by country music stars Hunter Hayes and Brantley Gilbert, PRCA rodeos, a carnival, exhibits, livestock shows and competitions, the Wyoming state fiddle championship and much more.
