My husband suggested an industry that could benefit from the cool down process of the water. He mentioned that an industry such as tilapia fish farming (currently being practiced in the Alamosa area) could use that heat instead of changing the temperature of the cold water river.

To whom this may concern,
I heard that the extra heat from one of the power plants in Brush, Colorado is used to heat a Hydroponic tomatoe greenhouse. Could the extra heat from this power plant serve a similar purpose before discharging into the river?

I am thankful that more opportunities for safer, renewable energy are available. Especially when we are so close to the tipping point regarding global warming and the survival of our plantet earth. Looking forward to more good news to follow. - Sincerely, Nancy Kohlman

It's great to have partners like Tri-State who are willing to spend time telling students about career opportunities. It's also perfect timing as they're making college and career plans. Thanks for your involvement!

Great program. I'm curious on something. I noticed the coating on the outside of the base of the pole, apparently to prevent corrosion. I also thought I saw a metal plate on the bottom of the pole for grounding. Is that the case? What is the size of the plate? Does it meet the requirement in NESC Rule 094 for a butt plate ground?

[...] Tri-State G&T Cooperative is a Class A member of Basin Electric, and their blog, Powering the West, shares lots of news from the southern part of Basin Electric’s service territory. Consumers of Tri-State member co-op Delta-Montrose Electric Association (Montrose, Colo.) will soon be able to “plug into the sun” using solar photovoltaic panels without having to install them on their own property. Under contract to DMEA, Atlasta Solar recently installed two additional 10-kilowatt community soloar arrays – one at DMEA’s Montrose … Read More [...]

As a SLV resident-we have always said this line was nothing but a smoke screen for supposed export of "clean renewable energy"...and had little to do with answering our reliability issues in an economic and environmental manner. Please refer to www.slvjunction.com and http://slvrenewablecommunities.blogspot.com for a more balanced perspective of the "opposition"...which really want renewables done well, correctly and to their fullest potential...all around the state!
